The Built Environment has fascinated Karthik since childhood. After studying mechanical engineering, he transitioned through various industries before joining a major facilities management firm in the Middle East. In this role, Karthik ensured compliance with service agreements and local building codes, while also implementing operation and maintenance plans aligned with client objectives. Additionally, he focused on reducing operational costs, improving health and safety standards, and supporting sustainability initiatives centered on energy and water conservation. After moving to Canada and earning credentials like LEED AP and WELL AP, Karthik became committed to decarbonizing the built environment and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Karthik supports the BC Retrofit Accelerator team as a Strata Coach, providing guidance to strata councils on energy efficiency and sustainability. His expertise helps these communities navigate retrofitting and decarbonization efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.
